This week on Confessions of a Working Mom Podcast I am chatting with Jenny Elliot who hosts the podcast Career Mom.
Jenny and I met on Instagram, realized we were both doing things to help working mamas and connected to share in our experiences. I’ve been listening to her podcast for awhile now! I’ve gotten so much value out of the real and down to earth interviews, and how Jenny talks about her identity crisis as a working mom.
We’ve all been there - unsure of how to embrace our new normal when we become moms and are being asked to still work like we do not have children. What we do, and how we shape ourselves as working moms comes from these defining moments in which we must face our ambitions and our passions head on to determine how to best move forward as working moms.
In Episode 13, we’ll be diving into the Identity Crisis of Motherhood,. Jenny goes in-depth through her experiences as a new mom, and how becoming a mom changed everything in her career and life.

Jenny is a Career Mom. She is mom to a 2.5 year son, married to her husband for 7 years and has had a career in Corporate America at a Fortune 100 company for over a decade. After Jenny had her son she was so unprepared for the identity crisis she experienced when she returned to work. It was that experience that led to her podcast, Career Mom, where she has conversations with working moms about the joys and challenges of raising children while juggling career. Being a mom is hard. Having a career is hard. Doing both is REALLY hard.

I’m a working mom, blogger, podcaster + side hustler, helping you through this crazy and imperfect road of working motherhood!
I had a dream after my daughter was born (she just turned 5!) to create a life and career that I love, while being present for my family.
I didn’t think that as working moms we should have to choose between having a career we love and an engaged and present family life.
The Working Mom Collective Blog was created out of my dream, and now I’ve taken it a step further and put the Confessions of a Working Mom Podcast out into the world!
My mission has become to help other working moms pursue their dreams, whatever they may look like (I’m not judging – You have to do what makes YOU happy mama!)
If I can reach just one other mama and show her there is a better way to pursue your career goals while raising your family, then I will consider myself successful.
Now let’s tackle this sometimes hectic, but AMAZING journey of working motherhood together!
